Coir Logs
Coir logs, an environmentally friendly alternative to hay bales, Rip Raps or cement stabilisation techniques, are made from 100 per cent biodegradable organic coconut fibre. A multipurpose planting medium with a lifespan of up to four years, coir logs are a durable option for a range of outdoor projects.
Utilised to collect run off sediment, the fully biodegradable Coir logs are ideal for constructing check structures, managing changes in stream flow velocity, shaping channels and stabilising shorelines. The logs can also be used for revegetation as it offers protection against the elements during crucial growth stages.
The most common installation method to secure the coir logs is using hardwood pegs, with an optional galvanised wire over the top for additional support. Alternatively, Australian Standards compliant steel fence posts can be utilised to secure the log.
